Sometimes you just have to shoot your shot to make it in the music industry.
That’s exactly what happened when DC-based producer Adam Hinden sent a demo to acclaimed UK Grime artist Novelist two months ago. As a result, Hinden got to create an official remix of Novelist’s single “Active”.
Hinden’s dreamy sound softens the intense, driving pace of the original version. Complete with wavy instrumentals and bouncy lo-fi synth, Hinden’s production serves as a refreshing contrast to Novelist’s bars. He accents the track with some washed out, psychedelic guitar melodies in the bridge. Melding seamlessly with Novelist, it allows the song to wash over us in a gentle breeze.
