AEG to Enforce Full Vaccination Mandate for Concert Attendees by October 1

Come this fall, if you want to attend an AEG show, you will have to show proof that you are fully vaccinated. The promoter giant announced today that it will be enforcing a full vaccination mandate for all concert attendees and staff. The policy will go into effect on October 1. This date was chosen so any currently unvaccinated ticketholders have enough time to reach fully vaxxed status “if they choose to do so.”

According to AEG CEO Jay Marciano, this decision ultimately came down to leading by example:

We have come to the conclusion that, as a market leader, it was up to us to take a real stand on vaccination status. Just a few weeks ago, we were optimistic about where our business, and country, were heading. The Delta variant, combined with vaccine hesitancy, is pushing us in the wrong direction again. We realize that some people might look at this as a dramatic step, but it’s the right one. We also are aware that there might be some initial pushback, but I’m confident and hopeful that, at the end of the day, we will be on the right side of history and doing what’s best for artists, fans, and live event workers.

With AEG being one of the biggest promoters in the biz, this mandate will likely affect many frequent concert goers. With the vaccine readily available and Covid-19 cases surging once more, AEG is taking a firm stance here to protect their staff.
