When it comes to remixes, Alexander Lewis always brings something fresh to the table. With incredible past collaborative remixes of Sinjin Hawke’s “Onset” Hudson Mohawke’s Song “Chimes” and Lido’s “Murder”, AL’s hard-hitting brass sound continues to set him apart as a producer. Today, one of our favorite brass/bass powerhouses has shared yet another incredible flip, this time of TroyBoi’s album standout, “Flamez”.
For this latest offering, Alexander Lewis has added some extra gas to TroyBoi’s heater of a track. Starting off with the song’s original opening and buildup, AL has effectively reworked the track’s structure, blending in his own signature horn stabs over a heavy bassline some skittering percussion and future bass-inspired synths on the last drop. Having continued to release both incredible originals and remixes throughout the years, at this point, Alexander Lewis has definitely earned the right to toot his own horn.
