Exciting hip-hop producer / vocalist Knox Brown first popped up on TSIS a couple years ago for his impressive loose single "Harry's Code" and is back at it with new material that has us hooked once again. Brown teased us with his second ever single earlier this year, and returns with news of a forthcoming EP along with the project's lead single.
For the EP's lead single, Brown has linked up with one of 2016's brightest new talents Anderson .Paak, who's been on quite the hot streak as of late. Today brings us the first listen off Knox Brown's forthcoming 6-track Searching EP.
Knox Brown’s vision is captured in his new project as he sings on most of the EP with additional help by BJ The Chicago Kid and Kojey Radical. The empowering EP aims to bring strong themes of migration and alienation as we can hear in this lead single “No Slaves.” The track kicks off with vinyl static and a funky key riff building into bouncing keyboard melodies with island vibes as Knox serenades us with his uplifting vocals. The organic sounding beat morphs throughout as trap percussion kicks in during Paak’s powerful verse as the two vocalists style’s fit one another perfectly. We’re looking forward to hearing the rest of Knox’s forthcoming EP, but for now stream “No Slaves” below and enjoy!
