Rising Artist Andrea Nayeli Returns With Confident, Summer Ready Anthem “Vaquera”

|||

Rising LA-based artist Andrea Nayeli commanded our attention with last year’s infectious “Niño Santo,” and we’ve been huge fans ever since. Her latest song “Vaquera” delivers another hypnotic vocal performance alongside frequent collaborator Lou Caluso‘s impressively crisp production.

In line with the song’s name (cowgirl in Spanish), the hazy horns and bouncy, infectious drum line reminiscent of hoof beats give “Vaquera” a modern rodeo sound. An unexpected acid synth embellishment on the bridge adds a satisfying note of grittiness to this otherwise defiant, unapologetically upbeat song.

Singing in both Spanish and English, Andrea’s silky vocals evoke early 000’s pop star energy as she encourages listeners to be brave and bold. She tells us: “this song is for every girl with an alter ego. Mine is a fearless cowgirl.”

If you’re digging this swaggering, Latin-inspired indie dance vibe, make sure to check out her upcoming sophomore album, dropping this summer. She’ll also be playing her first show ever May 3rd at Frogtown Creative in LA. In the meantime, take a listen to “Vaquera” below. Enjoy!
