Find two more forward-thinking producers than Barclay Crenshaw and Of The Trees. I’ll wait. While you try to think of those artists we’re going to push play on “Blue Mile,” the hectic new trap track from Crenshaw and Trees.
This collaborative effort is deep, dark, and sinister. A whirring alien synth floats overhead while skittering kits slink beneath. Strategy adds a machine gun-like performance on the vocals that elevates this track from an ominous bass tune to all out trap killer.
This track comes to us via Memory Place, the brain-child label of Of The Trees. The label dedicated to a blend of organic bass, ethereal electronica, and contemplative downtempo seems like a fitting place for the bass works of Dirtybird founder, Barclay Crenshaw, aka Claude VonStroke, house music’s left-field explorer.
Stream “Blue Mile” by Of The Trees and Barclay Crenshaw below. And as an added bonus, you can check out the live version taken from their Red Rocks set earlier this year. Enjoy!
