It’s no secret that Bassnectar has been a regular on TSIS from the beginning. The man is constantly on the move, dropping new music, new events and making appearances at festivals all over the country for years now. Just this year the artist announced Basslantic City Festival, Freestyle Sessions and Bass Center X, as well as dropped a remix of Buku’s “Front To Back” and Noisia’s “Get Deaded,” along with much, much more. Bassnectar’s newest EP, Reflective, is set to drop a week from today on June 16, and last night he dropped two new singles from the offering, “Underground,” which some will remember him teasing at Okeechobee, and “Horizons.”
The best thing about these new tracks is that they’re so authentically Bassnectar, both in their own differentiated ways. “Underground” goes heavy and pushes it to the limit with soaring synths, powerful percussion and deep vocal samples, embodying that headbanging-worthy sound that Bassnectar fans know and love. “Horizons,” on the other hand, explores the atmospheric, downtempo side of the artist, utilizing a mesmerizing, high-pitched synth crescendo throughout the track. Both highlight the most impressive thing about the producer: the sheer depth of range that he’s capable of throughout all of his releases and his live shows.
We couldn’t be more excited to see what else Bassnectar will give us on his upcoming EP. In the meantime, check out the two singles below and enjoy!
