It's always a pleasure when we have BLU J on the site, and today we’re excited to have the pleasure of premiering a brand new single from Vancouver/Los Angeles-based duo. Having kept relatively quiet over the past year apart from releasing a few remixes/singles including their incredible collab with Nevve, today the duo has started off their year with a bang by teaming up with LA-based producer/singer Axel Mansoor on their new release, titled, “Trails”.
“We wanted to create a song that felt organic and delicate but was offset by powerful and bass heavy moments to create an emotional ride. Axel's vocals and performance fit this vision perfectly, and we couldn't be more happy with the result." – BLU J
BLU J continues to show off their impressive mix of house and future bass elements on this latest melancholic offering. Starting off slow with some bouncy plucks, Axel Mansoor’s soft, emotional voice quickly floats in atop some gentle, atmospheric percussion, progressing the track into a simple yet powerful drop filled with lush, abrasive synths, distant slow-rolling vocal chops and pulsing bass. Enjoy!
