The Austin-to-L.A. group BROCKHAMPTON just released their debut album in June, but they're already planning to release the follow-up, SATURATION 2 this summer. The 15-person collective just released a new single "GUMMY" along with a video directed by themselves.
BROCKHAMPTON have said that they recorded all of SATURATION is just three weeks, and it sounds like they've been hard at work since. The new single amps up the aggressive production seen on previous tracks like "HEAT," bringing hard-hitting bass together with sirens and effect-heavy synths. The leader of the group, Kevin Abstract, lays down a ferocious and relentless verse before switching it up with a high-pitched chorus. Other rappers in the group Ameer Vann, Dom McLennon, and Matt Champions all add their own verses to make this one of their best hip-hop tracks they've released.
As they've done with their other singles, the song is accompanied by visuals directed by Kevin Abstract. The lo-fi video shows the group driving away from robbing a bank and it's clear that they had fun making this together. This rising group is already having a great 2017 and we can't wait to see what they have in store the rest of the year. Enjoy!
