Calvin Harris has just dropped what might end up being the biggest collaboration of the year. He's teamed up with Frank Ocean and Migos for his new single, "Slide", and it's straight vibes. The song carries a mellow rhythm featuring subdued piano keys and bright percussion. If you need to unwind and just sway to a good tune, "Slide" is it.
Rumors of this track began to brew in late January when Calvin teased a clip of it on Snapchat and then did so once again earlier this week. All rumors were to put to rest when Calvin tweeted out the official credits for the release. Migos members Offset and Quavo are both credited as writers on the track, in addition to Calvin and Frank.

The collaboration is unexpected in a number of ways. Frank Ocean is coming off a massive year, having released his 45-minute visual album, Endless, and his long-awaited Blonde LP that spans 17 tracks. He also announced his first live shows in three years. To see him follow up these major releases and announcements with a collaboration of this magnitude is definitely a pleasant surprise. Not to mention that "Slide" sounds like the most radio-friendly work we've seen him take part in.
The timing also could not have been better as they currently have one of the biggest tracks in the world right now with "Bad & Boujee", which has even received the remix treatment from ZHU. On Calvin Harris' end, the DJ / producer is no stranger to working with artists in other genres. In the past, he's collaborated with Big Sean, Haim, John Newman and Rihanna. However, this may be his most unique collaboration to date and certainly the most timely given the current buzz around Frank Ocean and Migos.
