Cam James started out as a spoken word poet, which explains why he’s a master lyricist. The hip-hop musician has a distinct style, with influence from all the places he’s lived (Florida, Atlanta, and now Tusla) and a well-crafted approach. His latest EP, SADBOYWINTER, just came out, and “Freeze Frame” really highlights his talents.
James uses a simple yet suave instrumental from Nu Deal Music Group, an edgy beat that leaves plenty of space for his prolific storytelling. “Freeze Frame” is about him telling a girl that their time together is temporary. The lyrics are cheeky and a little bit bitter, and his clean delivery makes sure the point gets across.
