One of our favorite new rappers is Smino, who landed a very high spot on our top hip-hop albums of 2017 for his debut studio album blkswn. Now he’s joined extra talented producer Cam O’bi on his album single “TenderHeaded” off O’bi’s forthcoming debut album Grown Ass Kid.
You might recognize the name Cam O’bi, and that’s for a good reason as he’s produced incredible beats over the years for some of our favorite artists like Chance The Rapper and SZA. Here he puts his smooth production and sampling abilities on full display on the irresistible instrumental using soulful vocals and even a baby crying as samples setting the foundation for the soulful vocals. While O’bi is known for his slick production talents, he really shines with his soulful vocals with his smooth flow. As always, Smino is amazing and delivers a must hear new verse on this single.
