Exactly a year ago to the day, Chance The Rapper made the exciting announcement he would be starring in a new full-length film titled "Slice" coming to theaters in 2017. Fast forward to today and the murder mysyery film hasn’t made its way to theaters yet but he’s taken the opportunity this Halloween to share the movie’s trailer.
The movie is headed by director Austin Vesely, who is Chance’s frequent collaborator and handled the music video for “Angels” that went on to earn nominations for VMA’s music video of the year. With this trailer comes news of the film’s cast, which includes Stranger Things’ Joe Keery and Atlanta’s Zazie Beetz alongside Chance, who will be starring. This isn’t Chance’s first acting role as he did previously appear in VICE’s short film “Mr. Happy.”
Vesely previously shared that Chance is set to appear in the film as Dax Lycander, who is a “werewolf who is a former Chinese food delivery driver” and was inspired by The Joker. There has yet to be a release date for the film, but check out the new trailer and last year’s teaser below.
