Chris Lake and his label Black Book Records have become synonymous with bangers. The British producer has been a spearhead for top tier house music for years, and today he unveils the start of a glorious new series, Black Book ID’s: Chapter 1. This new EP is the first in a series of mixtapes from Black Book Records that will have longtime label fans and new ones alike absolutely drooling.
“With Black Book ID’s, we’re aiming to give fans a sense of discovery, with exclusive, previously unreleased recordings from artists they love and songs from new artists that we’re excited about.” – Chris Lake
This first iteration features four filthy heaters that will have you stomping, bopping, and grinding till the sun comes up. We’ve finally got our hands on one of Chris’ most sought after ID’s, “Beat Freak,” a collaboration with a house legend in Riva Starr and the versatile lau.ra. Dubesque kicks up the acid a notch with his track “Trippin’,” and newcomer Fourword impresses with a stomper in “Snake Charmer.” And then there’s the ever-groovy Nightfunk rounding things off with a banging bass line on his remix of Nicky Night Time‘s “Like I Don’t Exist.” As always, Black Book Records continues to bring the finest house music out there.
