In case you haven’t noticed, several different parts of the United States are experiencing the effects of climate change as we speak. States like California and Colorado are experiencing virtually non-stop wildfires, and much of the East Coast has been hit with floods thanks to Hurricane Ida. DIRTYBIRD boss Claude VonStroke has teamed up with Florida-based producer Nala to deliver an EP titled Everything Is Burning, to help raise awareness about climate change through music.
Both of these tracks depict soundscapes that match up with the two different kinds of environmental issues mentioned above. While “Everything Is Burning” has a gritty bassline and fiery, acid-laced energy, the second track, “Wet State,” features deeper, submerged sounds that play as if you’re navigating a forgotten, underwater city.
