Diplo Really Wants a Jack Ü Reunion

There is little doubt that one of the greatest supergroups in all of EDM was the fusion of Diplo and Skrillex to form Jack Ü. Not only did they win over the radio waves, but the hearts of both of their fanbases when they dropped their GRAMMY Award-winning album, Skrillex and Diplo Present: Jack Ü.

It’s been over half of a decade since then, however, and with both artists focusing on their own music, a reunion hasn’t seemed likely. It’s also clear, though, that one of the two is more motivated to bring back Jack Ü. In an acknowledgment of the album turning seven years old this weekend, Diplo posted an Instagram story with the caption: “Pray for more jack ü,” with a bunch of prayer hands emojis.

This isn’t the first time that Diplo has petitioned for a Jack Ü reunion. Back in 2019, he posted a video of himself playing out a remix of “Where Are Ü Now” with the caption: “Comment a 🙌 if we should release some more jack ü.” The following year, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Diplo said that new Jack Ü music could come as early as “next year,” after Skrillex released his solo work that he was busy with. To this day, however, Skrillex is yet to unveil his long-awaited follow-up to 2013’s Recess.

While fans of both Diplo and Skrillex would surely welcome a Jack Ü reunion, it will take more than Diplo’s pleas to truly reinstate the pair.
