Founder of Mad Decent Record label, Diplo & Friends Radio show, and the first American to perform in Cuba to almost half a million people after the diplomatic thaw, is unstoppable. Diplo is set to make history yet again, this time in Sydney, Australia for the first ever performance atop the Sydney Harbor Bridge. The world class DJ will be the first to perform on this iconic structure on September 26th. Fans in attendance will have a beautiful view of the famous Sydney Opera House alongside the downtown skyline as they witness history being made right in front of their eyes.
Sydney Harbor Bridge stretches 1,149 m (3,770 ft) connecting North Sydney to downtown, making it the world’s sixth largest longest spanning arch bridge and tallest steel arch bridge, measuring at 134m (440 ft). The debut performance of this destination is in celebration of the 21st anniversary of BridgeClimb, a program that has made it legal to climb the bridge with protective gear and a tethered lifeline to allow tourists to take in the breathtaking sights of Sydney Harbor from on top of the world’s tallest steel arching bridge.
To those of us who will not be able to be in attendance, we can find solace in the fact that the event will be recorded and broadcasted for us to view both real time and on repeat. Enjoy!
