We’ve been closely following the rapid advancements of artificial intelligence in the music and art space. Just a few months ago, the internet was up in arms about an AI-generated song featuring Drake and The Weeknd. Now, ironically, Drake is the latest to utilize the technology on his current live tour.
During one of his recent shows, something fascinating occurred when he appeared to have a doppelgänger of himself on stage with him. The video recording shows Drake sharing a scene with a version of his younger self and even physically interacting with him. Many claimed that the doppelgänger was just a hologram but it’s our understanding that this was a combination of a Drake lookalike and AI technology.
With the use of AI, Drake and his team managed to create a surreal experience that, to our knowledge, has never been done before. They’ve proven that AI can be used to enhance a visual and musical experience while yet still appearing authentic. This is just the beginning of AI technology in live music and we’ll just have to wait and see who uses it to their advantage. Check out the video below for yourself.
