Electric Zoo Abruptly Cancels First Day of Festival

|||

This weekend was slated to be Electric Zoo’s biggest year to-date, boasting a ridiculously stacked lineup and promising brand-new state-of-the-art stages. Unfortunately, it seems like they may have gone a bit over their heads and have been forced to cancel Day One due to unfinished stage buildouts.

Electric Zoo announced earlier today that Day One would not be happening citing that “this year has presented unparalleled challenges for everyone. The global supply chain disruptions have impacted industries worldwide, and, sadly, our beloved festival has not been immune. These unexpected delays have prevented us from completing the construction of the main stage in time for Day One.”

According to FestiveOwl, “this is NOT the fault of the stagehands of production crews themselves. They’ve been working tirelessly. According to sources, they haven’t been given adequate construction time, and coupled with various delays it has made it impossible to meet the deadline.”

This news is certainly not the best look for the festival but we can only hope that they’re able to get the main stage up and running so that the festival can resume as planned tomorrow. We’ll be sure to keep you updated here as we hear more information from Electric Zoo.
