Australia’s pride and joy, Flume, has been kind enough to keep our ears satisfied with recently consistent new material leading to the long awaited followup to his 2012 debut, self titled album. He’s held us over with some great singles “Never Be Like You,” “Smoke & Retribution,” and even covered Alessia Cara’s “Here” giving the original a unique spin.
While Flume is currently in LA preparing for Coachella performances, he’s decided to treat his longtime fans to a pleasant announcement stating "I wanted to give you this news before anyone since you've been signed up to the Flume newsletter for a while." Via email, he's unveiled the latest single “Wall Fuck” for free download off his forthcoming album Skin, and has given the project a proper release date of May 27th, offering a sigh of relief knowing the finished product is in sight.
This new single is undoubtedly his most far out track to date showing off his experimentation with new sounds. The hard hitting, bass heavy track delivers shuffling, pulsing drums with glitched, euphoric synths abruptly crashing in and out with melded layers constantly shifting. This new track shows a side of Flume we haven’t heard before and displays the forward thinking producer’s eclectic production abilities. While “Wall Fuck” will hold us over leading up to the end of May, it only has us itching to hear more from one of our favorite tastemakers.
