An epic new collaborative supergroup is born! We’ve recently been blessed with amazing new collaborative projects, and now we’d like to introduce you to WOKE, which is comprised of Flying Lotus, Thundercat, and Shabazz Palaces. The latter being an experimental rapper residing on FlyLo’s Brainfeeder label who has a very unique, trippy style.
Flying Lotus and Thundercat previously teamed up with George Clinton, aka the godfather of funk, on Kendrick Lamar’s opening track to his recent album, and it’s only fitting to bring him onto this project’s debut single. Their first track “The Lavishments of Light Looking” comes from Adult Swim’s single series and brings a mellow, atmospheric instrumental with Thundercat’s signature, elusive bass-lines as the track oozes with trippy flavor you’d expect from such collaborators.
