Frank Ocean Seemingly Has An Acting Role In Forthcoming Movie

Frank Ocean may be stepping into the acting game. If we take a look at Frank’s recently updated IMDB page, there’s an acting credit given to him for the forthcoming movie Ships Passing In The Night.

There’s not much information given regarding the movie or Frank Ocean’s role, but here’s what we know so far. The movie is currently in pre-production, meaning the project is financed, locations are being scouted, people are being hired and production is imminent with a fairly firm start date for filming. The film will be directed by Korean-American director Michael Kang. There’s a brief summary of the plot of Ships Passing In The Night on the IMDB page:

“Brad Bang is one of the top male supermodels in the world. Grace Sol is a passionate but fragile actress. Despite their growing, troubled relationship, after a series of rehearsals and one fateful night, Grace falls for Brad, only to realize that despite needing each other, their love is forbidden.”

Lastly, it looks like Frank will be playing a character named Kevin, however that’s the only detail we have so far for his role.

This would be Frank Ocean’s first official acting role (not including is voice acting for his radio station on GTA V or his appearances in Tyler, The Creator's show Loiter Squad), and we’re stoked about it. Plenty of hip-hop artists have crossed over into the acting world before with success. Just take a look at Joey Bada$$ with his role in the hit series Mr. Robot, A$AP Rocky in Dope, or Tupac’s infamous character in the cult classic Juice in addition to his other movies.

Stay tuned for more information about Frank’s acting and his music endeavors!
