Two highly revered rappers have come together on a collaborative album that is just plain good for hip-hop. The project was announced some time ago, but Freddie Gibbs and Curren$y finally delivered a pristine, nine-track album, Fetti. Also, to make the project that much better, each and every beat is crafted by legendary producer The Alchemist.
Perhaps the most exciting part about this album is the pure synergy that is detectable within the first couple of tracks. Freddie and Curren$y vibe off each other like they’ve been rapping together for years. It’s not surprising that they finished the album in only two days. The two MCs have come together on a few of tracks in the past, but this is the first time they’ve jointly put out a real body of work.
This fellowship of underground royalty consisting of Freddie, Spitta, and Alchemist may have dropped one of the best collab albums of the year. This one will certainly be in our rotation for quite some time.
