Along with a new track off the project, we've been blessed with the news that GoldLink's debut album And After That We Didn't Talk will drop ahead of schedule and will be released Friday 11/6 via Soulection. GoldLink has continued to impress us and be one of the most exciting new rappers on the rise.
“New Black” is a 2-minute tune appearing as track 10 on AATWDT adding to previously released cuts from the album including “Dance on Me” and "Spectrum.” While much of his recent production has been handled by Louie Lastic, this new one brings smooth production from fellow Soulection affiliate Tom Misch alongside Aussie Jordan Rakei. “New Black” brings boom bap style hip-hop percussion on a calming instrumental with bouncing synths as Goldlink brings his relaxing rhymes. Goldlink has been known to only tell the truth in his raps and offers his thoughts on hip hop with the repeated lyrics “hip hop will die, I promise that, if we keep the lies in our raps.” Enjoy the stream below and stay tuned for the album on Friday!
