Blossoming Toronto talent, GOVI, has just shared another new track that has already burrowed deep into our ears. On Wednesday, he released “NOT WHAT, BUT HOW,” a floaty, atmospheric breaks track that nicely juxtaposes his more energetic “EUPHORIA” single from a month back. Along with this new single is news that GOVI is also ready to drop a new album, WHERE DO WE FALL, due out on May 6.
While these two recent singles vary in energy, GOVI’s dreamy vibe remains. Warped vocals and chilling synth work appear to be a specialty when it comes to his productions. In just a couple of weeks’ time, we’ll be able to see what else he will bring to the table for what will be his debut album and his longest body of work to date.
Here’s what GOVI had to say about the new single:
‘Not What, But How’ was one of the last songs I made for my project. The day I wrote this track I was reading The Power of Now and a line that stuck with me was ‘it’s not about what you’re doing, but how you’re doing it.’ For me, the best things come when my intention is in the right place. I chose the line ‘you don’t know’ to repeat throughout the song because accepting that you don’t know all of the answers allows you to be more in the moment.
