An artist duo I’ve loved for a minute is Chicago duo Whitney. Their music is charming and accessible to all kinds of music fans. Today they’ve shared their brilliant sophomore album Forever Turned Around and it picks up right where their incredible debut left off. The duo consists of dual threat vocalist and drummer Julien Ehrlich and guitarist Max Kakacek.
Whitney has a distinct sound blending elements of indie rock, R&B, soul and even a touch of folk. Their pleasant sound is immediately recognizable throughout their discography and they’ve become a favorite of mine. Today is actually officially Whitney Day in Chicago, which was declared by Mayor Lori Lightfoot and includes a block party to celebrate the album’s release. Enjoy!
