Lo-Fi Producer J. Lorenzo Marks Musical Evolution With “Brothers”

|||

You probably haven’t heard of J. Lorenzo before. That’s because the artist (fka Juan Lorenzo) announced last month that he was changing his moniker and switching up his sound. And on February 13, the Mexico City based artist dropped his first track under his new name: “Brothers”, via recently-formed label Hideout Earth.

This track shows his transformation from electronic influence to more acoustic elements. Lorenzo explained this is his first time incorporating bass guitar in a tune, and you can hear the wavy licks float soulfully alongside a catchy drum kick. It’s a chill, lo-fi song with an old-school instrumental hip-hop feel, and the perfect easy-going song for studying or just lounging around and vibing.

“Brothers” has made us excited for what’s next from J. Lorenzo’s new phase of producing. You can listen to the track below. Enjoy!
