PREMIERE | Jaenga Transforms “Kill Em” By Zeds Dead Into Retro Bass Banger On TSIS Debut via Deadbeats

To say bass artist Jaenga is a “newcomer” would be a mistake. While we have the pleasure of premiering his debut track today, Jaenga has been a budding staple of bass music’s live scene for years now. You may know Jaenga from the renegade sets he hosts on his purple school bus at Electric Forest and Camp Bisco, attracting top talent like GRiZ and Buku with a collaborative vibe that encourages wild late-night shows.  Zeds Dead noticed the live community that Jaenga was building and today we bring you Jaenga’s first release on their Deadbeats label, a remix of the Zeds Dead original track “Kill Em”.

Jaenga’s take on “Kill Em” brings a retro bass sound to the here and now. The first few moments of the track give a taste of the drum & bass breaks that Jaenga weaves into his bass-heavy projects, and the rumbling soundscape that underpins the first verse foreshadows the spacey, high-energy production to come. Jaenga is a master of mixing atmospheric buildups with hard-hitting drops, enveloping the listener in woozy synths before fully unleashing his enjoyably raw production on the drop.
