Today we have the pleasure introducing Brisbane artist Jamie Lane to the site with his debut single “Sink”. With his first release, the 24-year-old producer / singer-songwriter has already established himself as an artist for which we are paying close attention, combining tasteful electronic production with a distinct vocal style. “Sink”, in nature, is laidback. But it exerts a certain energy that is nothing short of captivating. It is somewhat reminiscent of 2012 Flume, but with an added ‘danceable’ groove that exhibits Jamie Lane’s innovation.
“Sink” progresses throughout very nicely, starting with elongated pads and scattered percussion. Once Jamie Lane’s vocal melody is introduced, you’re hooked. It’s so unique that it honestly takes a minute to fully wrap your head around. But, as it gets complemented by shimmering synths and prominent drums, you can’t help but to start to love it. Jamie Lane has set the bar high with his debut single “Sink”, and we are already eagerly awaiting his follow up release. Enjoy!
