Jimi Somewhere Releases Stirring Single “The World,” Final Before Upcoming Debut Album

Many of you should be familiar with Jimi Somewhere, the young Norwegian artist who has caught our eye as he quickly rises. Jimi Somewhere is the project of 22-year-old artist Benjamin Schandy, who’s on the cusp of releasing his debut album. With a penchant for crafting intimate songs backed by sprawling soundscapes, we are looking forward to seeing how he develops a full length album on the forthcoming LP Nothing Gold Can Stay, out on February 5th. The final single from it is “The World,” a reflective song that explores the depths of long distance relationships and personal growth.

Yet again, Jimi interestingly develops a unique composition of instrumentals, electronics, and vocals. Beginning with delicate piano and a fuzzy bassline, Jimi delivers an introspective verse. As the verse culminates, the landscape of the song shifts with a sprawling synth and drawn out vocals. Jimi always develops such a unique raw emotional aspect with his music, and it’s a stirring one here.

Check out the song’s music video in the link below, it’s got some quirky shots and really cool editing. Enjoy!
