Kaytranada hopped on Benji B's BBC Radio 1 show earlier today to announce his forthcoming album titled 99.9%, which is slated for a May 5th release date. Kaytranada actually pushed back the release of his EP in late 2014 because he wanted to turn it into a full length album, and now we finally get a taste!
While on the radio show, Kaytranada answered some questions surrounding the exciting new project. When asked about the meaning behind the title, Kaytra answered, "I mean just the fact that I'm like never satisfied with my album, I'm always indecisive so like that's where the 99.9% term came from." We can also expect to hear from Syd The Kid (from The Internet), BadBadNotGood, and "much more."
The Montreal-based artist went on to premiere a brand new song off the project titled "Bus Ride" featuring Karriem Riggins, who earned production credits on Kanye's "30 Hours." The song itself is the perfect new edition to Kaytranda's repertoire. As the wavy melodies course through the track's veins, Kaytranada's incredible drum swings add to the ultra smooth track.
We can expect to hear more from 99.9% very soon. While on the radio show, Benji confesses more tracks will be available for instant download with the album preorder in the next few days. BBC Radio 1 will also be giving an exclusive album preview on April 27th. For now, tune into "Bus Ride"!
