Kaytranada has just been pumping out music for us recently, and we couldn’t be happier. We’ve already been treated to a sensational 5-track EP that he dropped off in late November, and smooth R&B joint that he produced for up and coming artist Nicole Musoni. Today he keeps the music output going with a brand new single titled “Well I Bet Ya.”
The track comes via the Gangster Music Vol. 1 compilation, which is compiled by an artist known as Gangster Doodles (who illustrated the book Gangster Doodles). The comp is chock full of amazing underground artists such as Madlib, Father, JayAllDay, and more — of course including our boy Kaytranada.
“Well I Bet Ya” sounds like the vintage Kaytra we all known in love: choppy voice samples, funky lo-fi loops, and groovy percussion to get you moving. The tune clocks in just under two minutes, but any Kaytranada fan will enjoy this nice snack of a track. This track first appeared behind Ghostface Killah and Mick Jenkins on Mick’s album Pieces Of A Man, but this is the first time we get to hear the full instrumental, and it easily stands on its own.
