Kendrick Lamar is no stranger to winning awards. From the Grammys to music video awards, the 30-year-old has accomplished a lot in his career and has just hit another milestone. Kendrick Lamar just became the first-ever non jazz or classical music artist to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music for his album DAMN.
“[DAMN. is] a virtuosic song collection unified by its vernacular authenticity and rhythmic dynamism that offers affecting vignettes capturing the complexity of modern African-American life.” – The Pulitzer Board
Kendrick has always been known for breaking barriers and has made a big step for hip-hop by being the first rapper to receive the award. Congrats Kendrick!
