Kendrick Lamar’s New Album May Be Finished

|||

This is huge news! As it’s been three years since Kendrick Lamar released his immaculate fourth studio album DAMN., today we’ve received word that the larger-than-life rapper has finished recording his new album.

Coming directly from the tweets of former Billboard editorial director Bill Werde, Kendrick Lamar has reportedly finished recording his new album. In a tweet over the weekend, Werde stated, “are you interested to know that I hear from several friends that recording on the new album may finally be done? And that he’s pulling in more rock sounds this time?”.

As Kendrick has long been known to channel funk, soul, R&B, jazz and more in his music, it makes perfect since that he’d return to rock yet again on this hopefully soon to be released project. And although Werde added in somewhat of a disclaimer reminding followers that just because recording has concluded, this doesn’t necessarily meant he album is on it’s way out – we’re very hopeful that the new LP will see the light of day in 2020! See Werde’s tweets below and make sure to check back as we follow this exciting news. Enjoy!

Did anyone not named Beyonce release better, more meaningful back-to-back albums last decade than Kendrick Lamar? Are you interested to know that I hear from several friends that recording on the new album may finally be done? And that he’s pulling in more rock sounds this time?

Also, just to be clear, just because recording had hit a point where folks believe it may be finished — albums go back to the studio all the time after this point, and for a million different reasons.
