Kinder Stuns on Diverse Sophomore EP ‘Akwaaba’

You might not yet know of the Ghanian-Australian sister duo, Kinder, but it’s about time you do. We got our first listen of the producer/songwriter/singer duo on their sophomore EP, Akwaabaan uplifting collection of tracks that display their diverse range of talents.

Akwaaba is just the feel-good house record that we were craving this weekend. Infused with tropical percussion and high-energy synth chords, Kinder demonstrates their perfected formula for dance-ready bops. Their infectious melodies on “Keep Up” immediately reeled us in, continuing through several key changes in the slightly darker “Gettin’ On Ova,” and pensive “The Take Away.” Their voices are destined to live within these magnificently crafted house tunes.

The duo commented on the release of their sophomore EP, saying:

When we were making this new EP, it was the first time we had worked, in real life, face-to-face with people since the lockdown. We can’t explain how motivating and exciting it was, back to doing what we love. We made the record at Jono Ma’s studio in Byron Bay along with Jonti Danilewitz. It felt surreal to be somewhere so beautiful, surrounded by nature, and the sound of birds, on really our first trip out of Newcastle in a long time.

You can stream Akwaaba at the link below, out everywhere via Warner Music Australia. Enjoy!
