Lunice Announces Debut Album ‘CCCLX’ And Shares New Track “Distrust” Ft. Denzel Curry, JK the Reaper & Nell

||

Yesterday (June 26), Lunice shared a cryptic video which we hoped was teasing a potential new TNGHT project. Today, Lunice announced (in an interview with NPR) that CCCLX (360) is in fact not a hint at new TNGHT, but is actually the title of his upcoming debut album, dropping September 8. With the announcement the Montreal-based producer has also shared a brand new track "Distrust" off of the upcoming project – a collaboration with Denzel Curry and C9 rappers: JK The Reaper & Nell.

While his previously released single “Mazerati” will also be included on the album, Lunice takes things in a bit of a different direction on this new one. The track starts off with an soft horn melody and a quick verse from Nell before JK comes in on top of some eerie vocal chops, completely switching up the vibe. As the song progresses, JK, Nell and Denzel lay down some back-to-back fast paced verses before the beat does a full backflip into an extended outro section filled with wonky electronic blips, skittering percussion and a booming kick drum.

The production on this latest offering perfectly exemplifies the unexpected and hard-hitting sound Lunice is all about. Check out the full tracklist for his upcoming debut album here and listen to “Distrust” below. Enjoy!
