Mac Miller & Madlib’s Collaborative Album To Get Official Release

||, |

This is not a drill, folks! Legendary hip-hop producer Madlib confirmed on the radio show Sway In The Morning that he’s finishing up a posthumous collaborative album with the late Mac Miller. When asked if the Mac Miller estate was down with it, Madlib replied, “Yeah, they down.”

Before this official announcement, fans had dubbed Mac Miller and Madlib’s collaborations as Maclib. After Mac Miller’s passing, rumors swirled about what would come of the project. In April of last year, Madlib was spotted playing out a never-before-heard Maclib track during a live show. Without the consent of Mac Miller’s estate, however, which has overseen every posthumous release so far, it couldn’t officially move forward. This confirmation from Madlib ensures that not only is the project very much alive but that it will ultimately see the light of day (and possibly soon).

No further details of the project have been divulged, but stay tuned for what will be the second posthumous Mac Miller project alongside Madlib. You can watch the video of Madlib discussing the collab below.
