One of the best features of Holy Ship! is the freedom that the DJs have to experiment with their sets. Instead of playing one hourlong set at a festival where they’re playing for tens of thousands, most artists are able to play anywhere from two to four sets on the ship. Malaa, the enigmatic Parisian house wizard, took full advantage of this, and threw down three separate, distinguishable sets on Holy Ship 10.0 (including a b2b with label mate Tchami).
For his final set on the fourth night, Malaa dove a little deeper than he normally does, playing almost a full 75-minute tech-house set. Normally you would hear him drop his standard bangers off CONFESSION like “Notorious”, “Diamonds”, and “Fade”, but those were nowhere to be found in his set that closed out 10.0. Instead, Malaa was playing tracks from the likes of Camelphat, Solardo, Fisher, and other tech-house all-stars.
Luckily for us, Malaa released the set in its entirety today, for everyone to feast on. If you close your eyes and focus hard enough, you can almost feel the boat rocking… Enjoy!
