We’ve been intently studying the rise of DarkRoom Records latest pop standout, Max Leone. The 21-year-old Portland bred, California based artist has quickly made a name for himself and begun to carve out his own unique pop style with an edge. We’ve totally fallen in love with his introspective songwriting and silky vocals, which has given rise to saccharine pop anthems like “5” and “The Beach.”
With each new song, Leone demonstrates his talent and artistic evolution, whether through shimmery new guitar riffs or moving lyricism. His latest single, “the craziest thing i’ve ever done,” brings some unique production elements to complement reflective lyrics. Max’s beautiful voice sits nicely between some deep electronics and an emotive string arrangement, occasionally soaring above it all with ease.
