Independent Canadian artist, maxime., is the definition of someone who does it all. The self published, produced, and engineered up-and-comer brandishes a unique blend of indie-electronic and anti-pop influence, creating a sound that most definitely stands out from the crowd. His new EP, mile end (kiss ur friends)is a beautiful representation of the rising artist’s talents.

maxime.’s confident and unique vocal quality immediately captivates the listener upon pressing play. Lead track, “wedgie,” kicks off the EP with its buzzy bass tone, complimented by captivating lyrical themes and creative sampling. maxime. features a plethora of indie-guitar riffs and chord progressions on the rest of mile end (kiss ur friends), to contrast more modern, electronic elements.

maxime. commented on his track “wedgie” from the EP, saying:

The magic I felt the day I started this one is why I make music. Lyrically, this one is firmly in the complainer category, but more so about how personal growth can feel contractionary at times. 1 step forward 2 steps back type beat. I think I was sad when I wrote this, but I am happy it doesn’t sound like I was. This song is too fun to be sad while listening to it.
