18 years after their debut album release, electronic-indie staple Metronomy are back and arguably better than ever with their new five-track action-packed EP Posse EP Volume 2.
There are some serious standouts on this project. “With Balance”, a whimsical acoustic-laden adventure that shifts throughout but stays true to its dreamlike soundscape. The lead track “Nice Town” is an infectious drum-forward head-bopper that includes stellar horns throughout. “Contact High” is a high-energy yet simplistic song that has some serious Super Mario sounding undertones.
Metronomy founder Joe Mount says on the EP and its long list of features and collaborators,
“The more I do stuff with other people the more excited I get about doing my own music again… For me it’s a way of separating myself from the last 20 years of what I’ve done. You want to be proud of it – and then move on.”
There is a lot happening on this EP and there is something for everyone on it as well, so be sure to stream it below. Enjoy!
