We always love discovering new genres at TSIS, and that’s especially true when they come with a great name. Mystic State, a duo from Southwest England, specialize in what they call “drum and space,” which is apparent in their new remix of An-ten-nae’s “Grinding.”
While this track can fit into either dubstep or garage, it leans to the chiller, deeper end. From the start, “Grinding” unwinds a smooth, whirring line of bass. Complete with atmospheric textures, deep wubs, and an echoing vocal chop, this track launches the listener into outer space. With their spacious sound design, Mystic State does a great job of stretching the boundaries of this genre.
