Today we’re pleased to introduce a talented producer and multi-instrumentalist De Rien to the site for the premiere of “Cali,” his debut song. ““Cali” was constructed with intentional levity, enhanced by smooth synth chords. A certain easiness emerges, hardly found within our daily routines,” says De Rien. The talented artist come from a musical family as his parents are an opera singer and classical pianist. Although this is his first release under this solo project, he’s actually made an appearance on the site before as his duo Komplement.
De Rien leads off this new tune with a melodic distorted synth that flows along as the foundation of the song before adding a tastefully mellow arrangement of percussion and layers of distorted vocal loops. The German producer proceeds to take us on a dreamy musical exploration, gently drifting between the many layers of the track like a wave through the ocean. This soulful, and ever-so-psychedelic R&B beat has you tranquilly sedated from beat one, and we couldn’t be more pleased with it.
