OddKidOut is back with the second track from the rollout of his unique, new Solstice EP. Last week, it was announced that the fresh OWSLA producer would be taking on the special project, which focuses on the sampling of different OWSLA tracks from their catalog.
We fell in love with the first track, “6 Years,” upon first listen. The tune sampled the ever-so-talented brother and sister duo, Tennyson, and today, OddKidOut delivers track two from Solstice, which also samples Tennyson (“Cry Bird”), as well as Skrillex and Team EZY’s “Pretty Bye Bye.” The new track is titled “The Getaway,” and it’s just as impressive as the first.
The most identifiable use of the sampling is how OKO utilizes the intro to “Pretty Bye Bye,” while creating an entirely new, charming melody that is unique to “The Getaway.” The vocal cut is utilized throughout the whole track, and it works perfectly.
Stay tuned for the next couple weeks, when OddKidOut and OWSLA reveal the third part of the four-track EP, Solstice due July 11. Listen below and enjoy!
