peli Flexes His Production Prowess on Debut Release “no more cocoa”

|||

It is rare that we witness the debut of a project with such a solid first release. Last week, along with the release of a full EP, artist and producer, peli, entered the scene with his track “no more cocoa.” Having once called himself “mainly a guitarist,” the rising artist stepped up his production chops during COVID, coming out with a brand new, electronic-influenced sound.

“no more cocoa” displays peli’s instrumental background, meshing tasteful licks with contemporary synth chords. Overtop a solid, four-on-the-floor groove, the producer’s own vocals provide the main hook of the track, “If you wanna get down, get down.” All the while, peli maintains a modern house groove and funky bass line that is hard to resist.

peli commented on the full EP release, saying:

sooo damn excited to share with you guys my newest project and my first release as peli, “no more cocoa” is out now!!!! I crafted this EP in June ’22 while taking a break from my main covid album (Gemini EP – coming Spring 2023). I was listening to some old cocoa tracks and heard a few loops I felt I could sample and refresh – never underestimate the power of recycling old ideas. I ended up with 4 tracks I love even more than the originals, and really pumped to finally share em with y’all.
