One of Ireland’s hottest new acts, Picture This, has been seeing a meteoric rise to prominence over the past couple years. This four piece pop-rock group just finished a European tour opening for none other than the Jonas Brothers, and today they take another step forward on their journey to the top. The Irish golden boys have just released a punky tune titled, “Troublemaker,” as the first single from the upcoming third studio album.
This new single just sounds enticingly promiscuous right off the bat, leading off with an attitude filled bass line. Singer Ryan Hennessy then enters in describing a volatile love/hate relationship, a cheeky, familiar experience for many of us, but hey, sometimes love just hurts so good. The roaring chorus of, “She gives me a million reasons why I should hate her, but I can’t, cuz she’s my troublemaker,” encapsulates that feeling to a T and the punchy yet catchy accompaniment adds a perfectly subtle amount of erotic rebellion to the mix.
This track is too much fun and we are chomping at the bit to hear more just like it. Picture This will take stage for the virtual telecast One World: Together At Home, in support of healthcare workers in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, joining artists like Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Billie Eilish, and more on Saturday April 18. Hopefully we get to catch a performance of this new track on said special, but in the meantime, stream Picture This’ newest single, “Troublemaker,” out now via Republic Records, below. Enjoy!
