Few things get us more excited than seeing massive artists join forces for a new collab. So you can imagine how hard our jaws hit the floor when we saw two titans of electronic music, BIJOU and Party Favor, link up for a track on BIJOU’s label, Do Not Duplicate Recordings. And once we heard the track itself… well let’s just say “WHOA” is a very appropriate song title.
This colossal collab is not something to be taken lightly, you would normally need a license to carry a weapon this dangerous. The carnal repetition “You like the way my back move, make it move to the house groove,” over top an ominously distant bass is the first warning to take cover. Once that rolling tech house bass line drops in with a stomping kick, it’s off to the races. As you become steadily cemented into the groove, skittering synth taps ricochet between the bass to form a delightfully dizzying final layer.
This pairing has apparently been a long time coming according to Party Favor:
Six years in the making, I finally got to do a record with my good friend Ben. We’d been talking about it for so long and tried so many demos, so I’m excited it finally happened and everyone gets to hear it.
They say good things come to those who wait, and I think calling this new heater a “good thing” would be the understatement of the year. After six years of patiently waiting for the perfect track, the powerhouse duo definitely struck gold. Stream Bijou and Party Favor’s new single, “WHOA” below. Enjoy!
