Dugong Jr is another one of Australia’s finest bringing sonic innovation to the table. His latest track, “Ghost,” combines different, vivid emotions together in a way that has us hitting the play button over and over again. We’re pumped to be bringing you the first listen of this fresh one.
We simply can’t get enough of this track. While the lead synth croons in the background, Evangeline delivers her hazy vocals over the prominent, upbeat bassline. It’s a mighty clever mix of light and dark elements, allowing you to take from the track what you will. Whether you want to get up and dance, or sit and brood, “Ghost,” welcomes you.
On this new single, Dugong Jr explains:
My sound palette for Ghost was definitely heavily inspired by late 70’s early 80’s disco. I wanted to create something that was reminiscent of the sounds you might hear in an old Patrice Rushen or Parliament record, but with contemporary overtones. I knew I wanted a vocalist that was kind of dark but also playful with their lyricism, so I reached out to Evangeline cause that’s totally her lane.
