When it comes to experimenting in new styles, Kill Paris is one of the first producers that comes to mind for us here at TSIS. Since May 2017 the future funk creator has shared a slew of singles that dabble in many different sounds, from the funky “Red Lights” to the unexpectedly gripping “Made Of Time.” Today we’re happy to welcome Kill Paris back to the site with the premiere of “Two Minds” via Monstercat feat. Tim Moyo, an impressive offering that enlists an unlikely collaborator.
Guided by a deep, funky bassline throughout, “Two Minds” truly does represent two intellects: that of Kill Paris and guest vocalist Tim Moyo, who brings a sultry smoothness to the table, but also Kill Paris and, surprisingly, plants. For this track, Kill Paris partnered with biodata transmitter MIDI Sprout to transmit electrical signals from plants into music notes that are then carefully incorporated into the production. What results is a velvety, multi-faceted track that will draw you in and keep you guessing, from the surprisingly fervent, rumbling drop to the buoyant progressions on each build and bridge. Plus, trying to guess just which notes came from the greenery brings an entirely unique dimension to this track – something we've truly never seen before.
As Kill Paris continues to craft his sophomore album, we can’t wait to hear how he further incorporates nature into the songs to come. For now, check out “Two Minds” below and enjoy!
