PREMIERE | Maddy O’Neal & Balkan Bump Harness an Irresistible Sound on “Follow Me”

Today we’re stoked to give you the first listen to a collab that will just drip out of your speakers. Denver favorite Maddy O’Neal and Gramatik trumpeter Balkan Bump have teamed up on this prosperous morning to share a brand new track called “Follow Me.” This is the second single from her forthcoming sophomore album, following “Never Fades” back in May.

The first thing that will catch your ear on this track is the impeccable sound of the bass, which soon sweeps you into a gorgeous synth line that will tingle your spine. While that alone is enough to get us going, Balkan Bump’s brass eruption during the hook will send you to another level. To top it off, Home Malone comes through with some reggae-leaning vocals that make this the perfect daytime banger.

According to O’Neal, this one has already passed the live tests:

It’s been so great to be able to test this one out at festivals over the past month prior to release. Coincidently, Will and I played a couple of the same festivals in a row including Rekinectino and Summer Camp and we got to debut “Follow Me” and confirmed it’s a certified bop. It fits perfectly in a set smacked between some halftime bass and some trappy cruisers. Always an amazing feeling seeing a crowds reaction to a song for the first time 🙂 Can’t wait to get it out into the world as a whole.

Maddy O’Neal’s upcoming album is due out later this fall, so stay tuned.
